DX Mike

DX Mike - K9DXM - hosts "The Tuesday Spin" on W2PH Radio. He spent more than a decade at WCXP-LP (107.1 FM) in Chicago, and enjoys surprising listeners with eclectic sets that combine classic rock, oldies, progressive and alternative music, plus touches of blues, Afrobeat and jazz. Join DX Mike every Tuesday from 7-9 PM Eastern Time.

Rusty Irons

I've had careers in TV, 2 way public communications, and finally as a leader in Biomedical Imaging for Healthcare. All through this time I've been an active Ham, exploring HF, VHF, UHF as well as digital modes. I have also been a Chief Engineer and Oldies personality for stations in NW Ohio way back in the '80's—that's where my heart is—entertaining people while playing the greatest music of my generation! Melanie Sands

Melanie is a seasoned radio broadcaster with more than 30 years behind the mic, serving listeners across the Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Utica, and Plattsburgh markets. Her voice has been a familiar presence on the airwaves for decades, delivering information, connection, and a touch of personality to every shift. She’s also a licensed General class amateur radio operator, because when you love communication as much as she does, one frequency is never enough. When she’s not on the air, Melanie is usually exploring the world through photography, baking something delicious, pampering her three cats and her dog, or spending time with the people she loves most.

Ed Johnson

Ed started in Broadcasting in 1973 as a board engineer at WABC Radio in NYC working for greats like Dan Ingram and Cuzin Brucie. He then moved to do afternoon drive for a top 40 AM/FM station in the Albany NY area before moving on to TV at an ABC affiliate in Albany NY. After a career as a EE, he developed the concept of an internet station for hams in 2024 and W2PH Radio went live.

Mike Kelly

Mike Kelly, KD4OVP is one of our personalities who grew up with Oldies here at W2PH Radio. He does live shows each week featuring great songs from the 50s and 60's. Check our DJ schedule for showtimes.

Richard C

Richard C is our second AI DJ. He brings his deep baritone voice to W2PH Radio. He is modeled after a DJ who has chosen to remain anonymous.

George B

George, W2XBS has worked in numerous radio and TV stations in Upstate New York. He is also the writer and producer for This Week in Amateur Radio featured on Repeaters around the world as well as on W2PH Radio. His Sanforized Hour broadcasts bring focus to new groups both in the USA and worldwide.

The DX Mentor Bill AJ8B

I have been a ham since 1971. I started chasing DX seriously around 1985. I have been Blessed to have worked with and learned from some of the best DXers and teachers in the hobby. Using The DX Mentor podcast, I try to share that info.

Fred Fitte

Fred is a long-time (over 55 years) amateur radio operator holding the Extra class callsign NF2F. Having grown up in the 60’s, he is an oldies junkie! Catch his show here, on W2PH Radio.

Shelby is one of our two AI DJ's. Her voice was modeled after a famous UK internet radio DJ known as Rachel. She is energetic and fun and is guaranteed to get your attention.
